Vision of The Sri Lankan Christian Society of North America:
A) Glorify God through our actions and represent the Light of Christian Faith amongst various ethnic and religious groups in Sri Lanka and in North America. SLSC is strictly non-political group exists only to promote spiritual well being of fellow Sri Lankans.
B) Organize charity events and humanitarian programs to support causes that attends to the needs of poor and underprivileged Sinhalese and Tamil citizens in Sri Lanka.
· Communicate with Government sectors and humanitarian organizations to provide donations, gifts and necessities of the needy.
· Collect, publish and address factual and non-bias news of social issues.
C) Promote peace and harmony amongst the Sinhala & Tamil Communities in North America and in Sri Lanka.
D) Unite Tamil & Sinhalese Christian believers and groups in North America and in Sri Lanka.
E) To bring Christian ministers, denominations, churches and organizations including the Catholic church in Sri Lanka together to find common ground for communication.
F) To bring the attention of Christian believers of various denominations, churches and organizations in North America to connect with believers and Christian groups in Sri Lanka.
G) Uphold authenticity, purity and the absolute truth of Christianity by promoting sound teaching of Holy Scriptures amongst leaders, ministers and trainees.
· This is done by promoting Bible studies, seminary education and missions.
· Translation of English literature with sound theological value to Sinhala and Tamil languages.
H) Promote cultural and spiritual exchange of both regions (North America and East Indies Region) by visitations, missions and educational programs within regions.
I) Be involved in social affairs that affect and concerns the Christian community in Sri Lanka such as Speech, Worship, Rights, and Safety issues.
J) Be involved in Sri Lankan government’ general affairs in shaping proper decisions to benefit all citizens of Sri Lanka.
K) Encourage Christian Artists to maintain their focus on praising God with their various forms of talents (music, Dance, Art, etc). We will mainly be focused on Sri Lankan Artists who lack proper exposure and resources. Plans to be executed: Annual Music/Dance Concert in Tamil, Sinhala & English Languages, Art festival, Web section dedicated for listen, buy, sell of Sri Lankan Christian Music.
L) Promote Tamil and Sinhalese Christian literature and general literature by Christian authors. Dedicate a Web section for promoting Christian literature and authors.
M) Honor and uphold Christian History, Missionary Pioneers and early establishments in Sri Lanka.
N) Encourage cultural Christianity which is indigenous to Sri Lanka while maintaining Biblical grounds.
O) Elevate confidence and self-esteem of the believing community in Sri Lanka by constant encouragement via direct communication and prayer. Reach out to them in every way possible to encourage their Shepherding groups and the flock.
P) Uphold and promote Sri Lankan Great Tamil and Sinhalese social traditions, values and culture amongst the North American communities.
Q) Establish a Magazine to circulate among Sri Lankan Christians in North America, that promotes news, articles, tools for spiritual growth and Evangelism.
R) Constant devoted prayer and supplication dedicated to the present and future of Sri Lanka, its leaders, citizen and all social, economical and political issues.
